ChapelKids is now on summer break after a lovely summer. Amazingly this toddler group has now been running for 9 years, originally started in 2009 by Rev Neil Lambert and Rev Rachel Hawkins. It is now led by Alex Sanderson, Neil Lambert and Gina Hoff, with the help of some truly wonderful volunteers. Our philosophy is to be inclusive, so that all local children can benefit. We welcome child-minded groups, as well as children attending with their parents, grandparents and carers.

The group meets every Wednesday in term time, starting at 9.30am with free play and craft, whilst there is tea & coffee on offer for the grown ups. After a quick tidy up at 11am we stop for a snack, share a story and end with some singing. Recently we enjoyed welcoming some new friends, residents from Abbeywood Care Home next door, to our sessions. We all enjoyed learning songs from one another.

With this summer’s glorious weather, we have taken full advantage of the Chapel garden, with sand play, water play and various outdoor toys on offer. We are hugely grateful to our volunteers who have kept the garden nice, and also to the local Rotary Club and Project Aspire who funded our picnic benches. Once a month we stay an extra hour and share lunch, usually a picnic or soup depending on the weather.

ChapelKids look forward to welcoming everyone back, faces old and new, for the autumn term on Wednesday 5th September.
