Harvest Appeal 2023 for the local Food Parcels Project

Updated: Sep 13, 2023

At Harvest time we give thanks for all our blessings and share what we have with those around us. This year, we encourage you to help your local Ash Villages Food Parcels Project whom we are delighted to host here at The Chapel.

The Ash Villages Food Parcels Project has a wonderful volunteer team who have been tirelessly serving the local community since April 2020. You can show your support for neighbours in need this autumn and winter, by making a donation. Whether you donate food or funds this year, it will all make a big difference. If you donate tins and packets these will go directly into food parcels, or if you prefer to donate funds we shop around and buy in bulk where we can, to make every donation go further.

Your support to date has been hugely appreciated! Every donated tin, packet of pasta, ready meal, microwave rice, box of tea bags… every chocolate treat, cuppa soup, Christmas pudding… all these things and more have been received by local families over the years with grateful thanks.

This harvest, how about donating enough for a family meal - packet of pasta, tinned mince, peas and tomatoes and a pudding for example. Or tinned curry, packet of rice and maybe even a sweet treat? Or you might decide to start donating a little something every week all year round? We can use anything you are able to give as long as it is in date and sealed. Donations can be brought to our Chapel Cafe 9:00-12:00 on Mondays or phone / text / whatsapp us to make other arrangements 07730 609446. (If you live closer to st Mary's on vale road they accept donations too, on Sundays 10:30-12:00 / Fridays 10:00-13:00)

The Food Parcels Project is a joint project between St Mary's and the Ash Villages Support Circle, and serves those in need in Ash, Ash Vale, Ash Green and Tongham every week, so every donation you make is an important help for our neighbours in need. If you would like to know more or need to make a referral please get in touch. We have a web page here for more information too: https://ash-vale.org.uk/foodparcels-2/

Happy Harvest and thank you for your support!

Alex

A generous gift

Wow - feeling very humbled this week! We were just tidying up the stock at the Food Parcels Project on Monday, and thinking about the next lot of shopping to do to make sure we can meet all the needs
